On Wednesday We arrived in Honolulu and we stayed at the Staying at Sheridan Princess Kaiulani (120 Kauilani Avenue)

I had to take a photo
of the nice hawaiian
quilt on the bed.

We took an evening stroll down Waikki Beach.

The beach is not very wide. Sometimes only 10 feet or so, there are a few places where you have to walk on a bridge to get to the rest of the beach.

All beaches in Hawaii are public property.

This was the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in the Elvis Blue Hawaii movie.

This was the view from
our hotel at night.

The next day it was a
tour of Pearl Harbor.

This huge battle ship pulled in as we watched It was cool to see the seamen lined up around the deck.

Here is the sunken boat.

There is still oil dripping from the reckage.

This Park ranger would let you throw flower petals over the side.

That evening we ate at this hamburger joint.

Today we are on our way to rent a Harley.

These are a couple of photos of Whaling walls painted by Bob Wyland.

This car was from Alaska.

This little yellow vendor wagon had the best shrimp plate. We loved eating at places like this.

I couldn't believe how tall these flowers were. Almost 20 plus feet high. It would have been great to see them in bloom. They look like telephone poles.

This was a funny Highway along the city of Holalulu. It had 10 lanes of traffic and was only about 3 miles long.

We put 500 miles on the bike on an island that is only 50 miles diameter. We kept the bike overnight.

This rain gutter ran along the city of Honolulu. It was to keep the water that washed down volcano from washing away the city.

The next day we headed for Diamond Head. This is the view from the top.

We layed on the beach and watched these surfers for quite a while. The north east side of the islands was great for surfing.

We went snorkeling at Hanauma Bay Nature Park. It was a pretty busy park lots of fish. Nice place to snorkle for amatures like us.

ABC stores are all over the islands.

and an evening hike down Waikki Beack

This was our rental car. Good on gas.

Off to Kauai
